On Wednesday, President Trump said to Reuters
that he wasn’t aware of Trump Jr.’s conference with a Russian attorney until a
‘few days ago,’ and didn’t fault him for accepting that meeting.
According to Trump, it comprised of a twenty-minute
meeting from what he is hearing. And added, most people, and most political
pros, stated that everyone would do that.
On Wednesday, our White House was on the offensive, as
well as changed the conversation to what it views as a Democratic double-standard
for their associates’ 2016 coordination with foreign governments.
However, one critical problem is that Donald Trump Jr.
didn’t instantly state that he accepted a meeting with the attorney. The NY
Times reported that Donald Trump Jr. just tweeted photos of the emails after
being told that the New York Times was going to publish the email contents.
Tuesday night, Donald Trump Jr. acknowledged within an
exclusive
interview with Hannity from Fox News that he possibly would’ve
done things a bit differently.
According to Trump Jr., in the interview with Hannity
on Fox News, it was pre-Russia mania. It was pre-Russia fever. He added that he
doesn’t think his antenna went up or his sirens went off during this time
because it was not the issue that it has been made to be over the past 10
months.
Also, Trump’s eldest son described his meeting as
"nothing," and added, ‘I would not have even recalled it ‘til you
began to scour through this information. It literally was just a wasted twenty
minutes; just a shame.’
Emails between Goldstone and Trump Jr. do not contain
any proof that Donald Trump Jr. knew of the Russian effort to get involved in
the United States presidential election of 2016.
