Sanders Dominating in California

According to a Change Research/KQED poll that was released on Wednesday, all signs point to a solid win for Senator Sanders within the Super Tuesday state of California.

Bernie is leading in California, days ahead of the March 3rd primaries. Around 1,357, or 1/3, of the party’s pledged delegates are now up for grabs, which brings the hopefuls for president that much closer to the 1,991 delegates needed to seal the nomination on the 1st ballot. Anything less could result in a brokered convention that might spark chaos inside the Democrat Party. Sanders, at this point, is the only candidate who explicitly has said that the candidate going to the convention with the most delegates, even if it’s short of the 1,991 needed for the majority, ought to be the nominee.

Still, there’s a long way to go, yet with Super Tuesday days away, all eyes are on some of the states that are allocating the most delegates, which includes California.

The survey, conducted on Feb. 20th through 23rd, 2020, among 1,069 probable Dem. primary voters, showed Bernie leading the pack with the majority — 37% support. Senator Warren overtook Biden for a distant 2nd with 20% to the former VP’s 12%. Buttigieg followed behind with 11% support.

Bloomberg soared down to the bottom tier with only 6% support, followed up by Senator Klobuchar, Steyer, and Tulsi Gabbard with 5%, 3%, and 2%, respectively. Check it out:

·       Bernie Sanders 37 percent
·       Elizabeth Warren 20 percent
·       Joe Biden 12 percent
·       Pete Buttigieg 11 percent
·       Mike Bloomberg 6 percent
·       Amy Klobuchar 5 percent
·       Andrew Yang 4 percent
·       Tom Steyer 3 percent
·       Tulsi Gabbard 2 percent
·       Julian Castro 1 percent

According to the RealClearPolitics average, similarly, Bernie is leading in Texas, an additional delegate-rich Super Tuesday state.

Buttigieg Advises 9-Year-Old Boy to Come Out as Gay

During a campaign town hall inside Colorado on Saturday, Buttigieg advised a 9-year-old boy on how he could come out as being gay.

During the Q & A period, a volunteer pulled out a question from a bowl and read the question aloud, and said it was from “Zach, Age nine.”

‘This really is a touching question,’ the campaign volunteer said. ‘Zachery says thanks for being brave. Would you advise me on how to tell the world I am gay, as well? I really want to be brave just like you.’

“Wow,” Pete Buttigieg responded when the boy’s parents rushed Zach to join Pete on stage. In addition, the boy gave Pete a bracelet, which Pete instantly placed on his wrist.

According to Buttigieg, he didn’t think the boy needed much advice from him on bravery; he seems very strong. ‘It took me a lifetime to discover how to come out to my best friend, not to mention to go out there and come out to the world.’

Pete praised Zach for being willing to tell the whole world that he was gay during a campaign rally and gave him some advice.

‘It will not always be easy, but that is okay because you recognize who you are,’ Pete said. ‘And that really is important because when you figure out who you are, you’ll have a center of gravity which will hold you together when all types of chaos are occurring around you.’

Pete stated that Zach’s bravery likely will inspire other boys to be courageous regarding their sexuality.

Warren Torches Bloomberg for Calling Women, ‘Horsed-Faced Lesbians’

Senator Warren attacked former NY City Mayor Bloomberg for referring to women as “horsed-faced lesbians” and “fat broads” in the Nevada’s Democratic Debate.

The Democrat debate on Thursday night began by concentrating on Michael Bloomberg’s late entry to the Dem. presidential campaign.

Elizabeth Warren attacked Michael Bloomberg for making sexist statements about women.

According to the Massachusetts senator, she would like to talk about who we are running against — a billionaire who refers to women as horse-faced lesbians and fat broads. No, she isn’t talking about Trump. She is talking about Bloomberg.

She adds that Democrats aren’t going to win if we have a nominee with a history of harassing women, concealing his tax returns, and of supporting racist policies such as stop and frisk and redlining.

Reports recently have surfaced where Michael Bloomberg allegedly has made derogatory statements towards women. See this ABC report from last December.

Warren says she will support whoever the nominee is but know this: Democrats take a big risk if they just replace one arrogant billionaire for one other.

Warren ends by saying that it’s time to have a president who’ll be willing to get out there and fight and be on the side of working families.

Bloomberg Soars to Second Place Behind Sanders

Michael Bloomberg is hopping behind Bernie Sanders to 2nd place nationally, according to a Zogby Analytics poll that was released on Monday.

The billionaire, whom Bernie routinely has railed against for trying to “buy” the primary, made it to 2nd place in a national poll, behind Sanders by just 4 percentage points — 20% to Sanders’ 24% support.

The former NY City mayor edged out Biden by 2 points and Warren, whose campaign lost its momentum, by 8 percentage points, which dropped her to 4th place with 10% support.

Buttigieg, who leads in present delegate totals, landed in 5th place with 9% support, followed up by Klobuchar, Steyer, and Gabbard with 5%, 4%, and 3% respectively.

Zogyby Analytics assessed that Sanders continues with his winning ways and now is the frontrunner.

It added that with Bloomberg’s ascendancy into the 2nd slot within the national polls, the campaigns of Warren and Buttigieg have tremendously suffered.

The firm emphasized the reality that the previous VP’s campaign that suffered poor showings in New Hampshire and Iowa, is “hurting too,” yet noted his SC strategy. But, it warned, ‘if he does not win it outright the campaign might be game over.’

Michael Bloomberg is taking all of Joe Biden’s support among important groups: primarily moderates, women, suburban voters, older voters, college educated voters, and suburban women.

A recent RealClearPolitics average shows a likewise lineup, with Bernie in the lead followed up by Joe Biden, Michael Bloomberg, Elizabeth Warren, and Pete Buttigieg.

Voters Believe Trump Will Be Re-elected

A Monmouth University Poll that was released on Tuesday revealed the majority of voters in the United States believe Trump will be re-elected.

Repubs are brimming with confidence, with 59% indicating that President Trump’s re-election is “definite” and 34% saying it’s “probable” for a total of 93%. The survey also shows hesitancy among Dems. Only 11% think their candidate “definitely” will defeat Trump, whereas 44% say she or he will probably beat the president.

“On the flip side, 38 percent of Dems actually believe it’s more likely than not that the president will win a 2nd term. Only 4 percent of Repubs believe the president will lose to a Democrat.

While most registered voters think the president will win in Nov., 55% believe it’s time for somebody else to take office, whereas 42% say that the president should be re-elected.

In addition, the survey asked a subset of 357 Dem. and Democrat-leaning individuals to select their 1st choice candidate among the Dems in the present primary field.

Senator Sanders has a double-digit lead, with 26% support to Biden’s 16% support — a 14-point decrease from the 30% support that Joe saw in January.

Senator Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg tied for 3rd place with 13% support each, and Bloomberg followed closely behind with 11% support.

Andrew Yang and Senator Amy Klobuchar followed with 4% and 6%, respectively.

Trump Seeking $2B for Border Wall

According to the WSJ, President Trump is set to ask Congress to offer only $2B for the border wall by late 2020.

The minor request for 2021 construction is going to assist in averting a budget showdown, as well as government shutdown close to November’s election. However, it won’t slow border wall construction because it now is being constructed with almost $14B in funds transferred from the DoD.

The process of government procurement delays the beginning of construction so that just 104 miles of fencing has been constructed thus far. However, officials expect around an additional 400 miles of fencing is set to be constructed by early 2021. Trump, within his Feb. 4th, 2020, State of the Union speech, declared that we already have a ‘strongly guarded southern border, in which, right now, a very powerful, tall, and long wall is being constructed,’ adding, ‘We now have finished more than 100 miles and have more than 500 miles completely finished in an extremely brief time period. Early 2021, we’ll have significantly over 500 miles finished.’

Border wall construction is behind schedule, partially due to weak GOP support, solid opposition by Dems, activists’ suits, as well as the practical difficulty of constructing several miles of border wall through deserts.

Trump Urges the Banning of Late-Term Abortions

President Trump called on Congress within his State of the Union address on Tuesday evening to ‘pass legislation, at last, that bans late-term abortion of babies.’

Trump made the request after presenting his special guests, Robin Schneider and daughter, Ellie, who was among the youngest premature babies born within the U.S. at 21 weeks and 6 days. Ellie, now, is a healthy 2-year-old girl.

Besides asking Congress to offer an extra $50 million for neo-natal studies, President Trump stated that is also why he is calling on the Members of Congress to pass legislation that finally bans late-term abortion of babies.

The president’s statement is consistent with the viewpoints of the majority of Americans.

According to a Marist poll that was released in January it found that 62% of people in America state that if the U.S. Supreme Court revisits Roe vs Wade, it ought to rule to permit states to determine abortion limitations (46%) or make abortion illegal (16%). This result includes 39% of the ones who identify as Democrat, as well as 40% of the ones who consider themselves to be “pro-choice.”

Only 33% of people in America state that abortion ought to be legal during any time without limitation, according to the poll.

The poll discovered that 41% of the ones who identify as pro-choice are more than likely to vote for candidates supporting abortion limitations, as are more than 9 in 10, or 96%, of the ones identifying as pro-life.

Also, 65% of people in America, and the exact same percentage of registered voters, claim they’re “more likely to vote for” candidates who’d restrict abortion to, at most, the first 3 months of pregnancy. This result includes 88% of Republicans, 62% of independents, and 44% of Democrats.

Mitt Romney Disinvited from CPAC

Matt Schlapp, the chairman for the ACU (American Conservative Union) officially “disinvited” Senator Mitt Romney from the 2020 CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) due to his vote to call on extra witnesses in Trump’s impeachment trial.

According to Schlapp’s tweet on Friday, the Junior Senator from Utah and ‘extreme conservative, @SenatorRomney is formally disinvited to #CPAC2020.

Romney, in conjunction with Senator Susan Collins, broke from the Republican party to vote in favor of hearing more witnesses.

The step to subpoena extra documents and witnesses in the trial failed within a 51 to 49 vote after additional moderate Repubs voted “no.”

The Senate is currently expected to vote on Wednesday on the acquittal of Trump.

The Conservative Political Action Conference is among the biggest collectives of conservatives in the country, and President Trump has spoken at CPAC the past 3 years.

In addition, in 2012, Romney spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference as a presidential candidate, yet the present Utah senator ruffled the feathers of several conservatives for criticizing the administration.

2020’s CPAC is set to start on Feb. 26th at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center with Devin Nunes, Brexit leader Nigel Farage, and conservative commentator Mark Levin as a few of the speakers on the roster.
