A
Monmouth University Poll that was released on Tuesday revealed
the majority of voters in the United States believe Trump will be re-elected.
Repubs
are brimming with confidence, with 59% indicating that President Trump’s re-election
is “definite” and 34% saying it’s “probable” for a total of 93%. The survey also
shows hesitancy among Dems. Only 11% think their candidate “definitely” will defeat
Trump, whereas 44% say she or he will probably beat the president.
“On
the flip side, 38 percent of Dems actually believe it’s more likely than not
that the president will win a 2nd term. Only 4 percent of Repubs believe the
president will lose to a Democrat.
While
most registered voters think the president will win in Nov., 55% believe it’s
time for somebody else to take office, whereas 42% say that the president
should be re-elected.
In
addition, the survey asked a subset of 357 Dem. and Democrat-leaning
individuals to select their 1st choice candidate among the Dems in
the present primary field.
Senator
Sanders has a double-digit lead, with 26% support to Biden’s 16% support — a 14-point
decrease from the 30% support that Joe saw in January.
Senator
Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg tied for 3rd place with 13% support each,
and Bloomberg followed closely behind with 11% support.
Andrew
Yang and Senator Amy Klobuchar followed with 4% and 6%, respectively.
