According
to a poll released recently, among America farmers, support for Trump is on the
rise.
According
to the most recent Farm Journal Pulse Poll, featuring reactions from 1,286
farmers, Trump obtained an approval rating of 83%, one point higher than the former
poll. Only 18% disapprove of Trump. Since Farm Journal Pulse’s tracking of President
Trump’s support from farmers, the most recent poll marks his greatest approval.
According
to Jim Wiesemeyer, Pro Farmer policy analyst, the strongly approve category rose
3 percentage points from December’s figure and was Trump’s highest approval
ratings ever.
Wiesemeyer
adds that this says Trump’s approval is rock-solid. And with the latest positive
news on USMCA and Phase 1 accord with China, his ratings will probably remain strong
ahead.
In
January, farmers who claimed they “strongly approve” of Trump soared to 64%, up
from 61% at the completion of 2019. Only 19% state they “somewhat approve” of
Trump’s performance, while only 3% stated they “somewhat disapprove.”
Wiesemeyer
adds that the president needs the rural vote in order to keep the same states
he won in the year 2016 within his win column come November. As a matter of fact,
contacts report he’s concentrating on winning Minnesota this time around as a
backstop if he loses a state that he won in 2016. This means agriculture will
continually be a key subject in Trump’s re-election campaign.
In
accordance with the most recent poll results, Trump additionally spoke at
American Farm Bureau Federation’s convention in Austin, TX, in which he praised
the many achievements of farmers in America.
