President Donald Trump (after meeting with Alexis
Tsipras, Greek Prime Minister, at the White House last Tuesday), addressed a
question from one reporter in regard to his claim that ‘ObamaCare’s dead.’
The president doubled down within his criticism of
previous President Barack Obama’s hallmark healthcare law of 2010.
According to Trump, ObamaCare is pretty much dead. At
best, you might say that it is on its last legs. Trump argued that its premiums
are "through the roof" and the deductibles are too high.
Trump added that ObamaCare is disgraceful to our
nation, and we’re solving the ObamaCare problem.
The president campaigned on his vow to repeal and
replace that health care law, and Trump expressed frustration with the Senate,
controlled by Republicans, for not passing legislation for health care reform.
Last week he mentioned that he’d end all cost-sharing
reduction payments to the insurance providers that assist low-income Americans
in affording health insurance.
This came after signing an executive order with the
goal of offering ObamaCare plan “alternatives” by permitting insurance
providers to sell low-cost, short-term plans which fall short of coverage
requirements underneath Obama’s law.
And remember, the SuperTrump Interactive Rally that
was set for Halloween has now been pushed back to February 19, 2018 due to the
recent hurricane issues.
